Stanford Children’s Care Teams Invited to 49ers Training Camp as a Token of Gratitude

Health care workers from Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford were invited to opening day of the San Francisco 49ers Training Camp, as the gridiron stars extended a heartfelt high-five to some of the MVPs of our community, including those who tackle health challenges head-on

The community event offered spectators, who included firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and beneficiaries of other non-profit organizations, a unique opportunity to meet the team, watch the players practice, and engage in various activities designed to honor their unwavering commitment to public service.

“It was a fun day to come out to the San Francisco 49ers camp to watch some practice and see the start of this current football season, along with getting some photos and autographs,” said Brian Bunce, Stanford Children’s surgical materials/supply chain supervisor and a 49ers Faithful.

For Stanford Children’s care teams, the day was deeply meaningful, offering them a moment of rest and celebration amid their demanding roles. It served as a powerful reminder that their hard work does not go unnoticed, providing a boost of morale and reinforcing the collective appreciation of their contributions to public health and safety.

“This was amazing,” said Stefanie Sonico, RN, MSN, maternity patient care manager. “I want to thank the 49ers for hosting this event for us. It was a great opportunity to talk about Stanford Children’s and feel the support they have for us.”
