U.S. News & World Report has named Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford to the 2016-17 Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll, making it the only children’s hospital in Northern California and one of just three on the West Coast to achieve this status.
To make the honor roll, hospitals must have at least three specialties that rank in the top ten percent nationwide.
The news is covered in a recent article from the Silicon Valley Business Journal, which details Packard Children’s rankings:
“Packard Children’s achieved rankings in all 10 pediatric specialties ranked by the publication. Three of its specialty programs were ranked in the top 10 nationally: cardiology and heart surgery at No. 5, nephrology at No. 5 and pulmonology at No. 7. Those three programs rank highest in California. For cardiology and pulmonology, they’re also ranked best on the West Coast.”
As Packard Children’s celebrates its 25th anniversary this June, it is the youngest hospital to earn this year’s Honor Roll distinction.
