We’re pleased to roll out the welcome mat for three new pediatricians while bidding a fond farewell to two wonderful physicians who are retiring this year.
Three pediatricians from Hospital Drive Pediatrics, along with their patients and families, will join the Altos Pediatric Associates practice, which is part of the Stanford Medicine Children’s Health network.
Amy Oro, MD, who leads the Altos Pediatric Associates practice said, “We’re delighted to welcome Monica Kenney, MD, Kimberly Trujillo, MD and Patty Sabey, MD to the Altos family. They are a dynamic group of smart, dedicated and compassionate pediatricians who share our philosophy of patient-centered care.”
Founded in 1978 by Penny Loeb, MD, Altos Pediatric Associates has been serving families throughout Silicon Valley for over 40 years, providing the highest quality care in a warm, friendly environment located in a residential neighborhood in Los Altos, California. Dr. Loeb and Dr. Donna Chaet will be retiring from the practice after years of service. This presented an opportunity to bring on the Hospital Drive Pediatrics physicians to continue the legacy of excellent care at Altos Pediatric Associates.
Dr. Monica Kenney, who became a partner at Hospital Drive Pediatrics in 2000, says joining the practices feels natural since the Hospital Drive pediatricians have long worked side by side with the Altos Pediatric pediatricians. “These are providers we’ve looked up to in our field over the years. The pediatricians at Altos Pediatric Associates are friends, colleagues and mentors, and we have similar styles of practicing medicine. We are excited to be joining together with our good friends and neighbors. It feels more like family than anything else.”
Dr. Kenney added that joining the Stanford Medicine Children’s Health network will allow the Hospital Drive pediatricians to offer their patients modern conveniences like electronic records and faster communication.
Dr. Kimberly Trujillo’s relationship with both Hospital Drive Pediatrics and Altos Pediatric Associates began when she was a hospitalist at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. She quickly realized that these were the two groups she would love to join and have a long career with as a primary care pediatrician. She is honored and proud to have built a successful practice at Hospital Drive Pediatrics and looks forward to offering the same individualized care to her patients at Altos Pediatric Associates and Stanford Medicine Children’s Health.
Dr. Oro cites the long history of collaborating with Hospital Drive Pediatrics as beneficial to all involved. “We have deep roots with them. We have shared calls and worked side by side with them for years. . . . They even covered for us when people went on maternity leave,” she said. “They have great compassion for their patients, and we are confident our patients will come to trust them and love them as much as we do.”
